Senior automation engineer

What to expect of the job?

  • You are responsible for PLC machine control and SCADA programming for new Sputter Hardware and Sputter Targets machines. This includes aligning the installation schedule related to automation with the project manager.
  • You create or modify the functional description of the machine.
  • You handle the functional final inspection before shipment of the goods to be installed.
  • You assist with upgrades and service interventions for machines at customer sites.
  • You determine the PLC and network components in consultation with the electrical engineer and project manager.

Who are we looking for?

  • You have at least 10 years of experience as an automation engineer in a machine-building company.
  • You hold a master’s degree in electrotechnics - automation or a similar field with a focus on automation/electricity.
  • You have extensive expertise in PLC machine control and programming, especially in Siemens (TIA Portal, Step7) and at least 1 other (Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Beckhoff, Schneider,…).
  • You have experience with various process visualization systems such as WinCC, Wonderware and iFIX.
  • You can read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of servomotion technology.
  • Affinity with IT programming languages (.NET, C++, C#, SQL,…) is a plus.
  • You are capable of setting priorities and can work independently without losing team spirit.
  • You have a hands-on personality and a commercial/customer-oriented mindset.
  • You are willing to travel internationally (up to 30%).
  • You are fluent in English and Dutch (written and spoken).
