How can you make the difference
We are looking for an R&D project engineer for our site in Deinze to further strengthen the R&D team of the Sputter Targets division, mainly focused on thermal spraying but also other production technologies like casting.
- You oversee and run all thermal spray equipment for R&D.
- You participate in the design, development, and testing of new target materials.
- You solve technical problems in the product development process in cooperation with the entire Targets department.
- You analyze and evaluate the projects together with the R&D team and provide an optimal test environment to carry them out.
- You will also help by analyzing, interpreting, and managing process data.
- You are responsible for the scale-up and industrialization of R&D processes.
- You help to further expand our current spraying capabilities and explore new technical possibilities.
- You contribute to the technical support and the optimization of production, debugging, and operational improvement of the spraying processes.
- You get to know the nuances and complexity of the sputtering world.
Preferred qualifications
- You have a bachelor's or master's degree in materials science, engineering, chemistry, physics, or related fields.
- Experience in thermal spraying, material processing or experience in an R&D environment is preferred but not a must.
- You have a hands-on personality with a sense of initiative.
- You have a strong analytical mindset, while keeping an eye on the big picture.
- You are highly adaptable and a quick learner, ready to master spray technology in the short term. On the job training will be provided.
- You know how to set priorities and are willing to contribute with your own ideas.
- You can work autonomously and proactively, without losing the team spirit.
- You thrive in a demanding production environment, meet tight deadlines, and adapt quickly to changes.
- You strive to continuously improve the quality of the delivered work.
- You are fluent in English. Any other language is a plus.
- You are open to occasional travel to our other production sites.
