For our machine shop in Izegem, we are looking for a Quality Control Officer. Our machine shop is equipped with the latest CNC machines, including multitasking turning and milling centers as well as 5-axis simultaneous milling machines, all running on Siemens control systems. As the person responsible for quality, you will play a key role in ensuring the high standards of finish and precision we are known for.
How can you make the difference
- You check the quality of a part by size, shape and finish level using a technical drawing and available measuring instruments. You measure large constructions with a 3D scanner.
- Based on the technical drawing you program the measuring device (CMM) or interpret the existing measuring program.
- You interpret the measured values and can convert them into readable data in Excel.
- You plan the activities and follow it closely. You then carry out the planned activities based on the work instructions (SOP), quality control and safety regulations.
- In consultation with the designers, suppliers and the internal machine shop, you discuss possible optimizations. You complete non-compliances in our ERP package (AX).
- You design specific fixtures for the use of the CMM so that the different pieces are measured identically each time.
Preferred qualifications
- You have a high school or bachelor's degree in electromechanics. A first experience within a quality department is an advantage but not a must.
- You have insight in reading technical drawings (geometrical product specifications). You have basic knowledge of a drawing program.
- You have an eye for detail and strive to continuously improve the quality of the delivered work.
- You have a hands-on personality with a sense of initiative.
- You are communicative and digitally proficient.
- You can work autonomously without losing team spirit.
- You are fluent in English and Dutch (written and spoken).
