What to expect of the job?

• Prepare financial reports and perform accurate journal controls, ensuring correct, timely, and complete processing of all financial data and maintaining a fully compliant accounting process.
• Take ownership of the monthly closing, including provisions, payroll and salary bookings, verification of all entries, and ensuring a smooth and error‑free closing process.
• Follow up on intercompany reconciliations by aligning balances and transactions between group entities and ensuring consistency and transparency across the organization.
• Manage and submit mandatory filings, including VAT, Intrastat, Prodcom, and intracommunity declarations, while closely monitoring customer and supplier data to ensure accurate reporting.
• Prepare and support internal and external audits by providing financial data, reconciliations, and required documentation to auditors, ensuring an efficient audit flow.
• Prepare and file tax returns and fiscal statements, ensuring accurate drafting and submission of documents in line with legal requirements.
• Manage accounts receivable and optimize cash flow by following up on customer payments, analyzing customer balances and sending targeted reminders.
• Control and process expense notes and bank transactions, ensuring timely and accurate entries, communicating with employees regarding Mastercard expenses, and safeguarding internal guidelines.

Who are we looking for?

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in an accounting-related field (such as Accountancy–Taxation) or an equivalent.
• You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role within a medium‑sized organization.
• You have a solid understanding of the financial module of an ERP system (preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX).
• You have strong knowledge of VAT legislation and a good general understanding of tax regulations.
• You work with great accuracy, have a keen eye for detail, and easily meet deadlines.
• You take initiative, organize and plan your work efficiently, and handle confidential information with discretion.
• You communicate fluently in Dutch and English.
