Sintering technology | Sintering

Sintering technology is a method of binding particles together by diffusion.

In the case of pressed powders such as Molybdenum, Tungsten and other powders used in powder metallurgy, the materials are pressed to the desired form and are then heated to a temperature that is lower than the materials' melting point. Then the compacted powders fuse together to form a solid high density finished product.

Some compacted parts are sintered while held in a mold, while others are sintered as is in their compacted green state.
